Volunteered at Very Special Arts

I volunteered at Very Special Arts for the Peter and the Wolf play and my job scope as a volunteer was to run the merchandise booth. I was required to set up the booth and display all the merchandise, promote the merchandise available that day, settle payment and invoices for every purchase as well as pack up everything from the booth when everything ended.

Volunteered at Esplanade

I volunteered at Esplanade for the Mother's Day Concert and my job scope as a volunteer was to take care of the elderly that attended the concert. I was required to head to the bus bay at Esplanade to welcome them, followed by leading them to the concert hall, ensure that they are comfortable and interact with them and lastly lead them back to the bus bay.

Volunteered at Ngee Ann Polytechnic Open House

I volunteered at Ngee Ann Polytechnic Open House and was a represent for my course, Arts Business Management. My job scope was to promote my course. I was required to set up the booth and put up all the displays as I was in the morning shift. I then had to approach the parents and students to tell them more about the course and answer any queries they had on the modules.

Oh' Verve Drive 2020

In Arts Business Management, we have an annual festival called Verve and in order to raise funds for that festival we have Oh' Verve Drive (OVD). The video on the right shows my group and I making resin key chains to sell at OVD and this experience has helped me a lot in terms of marketing as we had to think of marketing strategies to sell our product and think of how much to price it with the profit margin in mind. We also had to find the cheapest cost for the items we needed to save cost. Lastly we had to take product shots of the resin key chains to make it appealing.

I was the Assistant In-charge for my club's very first online event and was tasked to write proposals, come up with game ideas, create sign up forms and slides, create a participant detail list using google sheets.

I was part of the planning team for 2017 and 2018 Secondary 1 Orientation Camp and was tasked to organise activities. I was appointed group leader to one class and had to interact and make the Secondary 1 feel welcomed and comfortable.

Volunteered at Willing Hearts

In 2018, my classmates and I volunteered at Willing Hearts and helped out during food preparation and my task was to roll Popiah with a few of my other classmates. This experience really made me feel very grateful for what I have in life and was an eye-opening experience.

Volunteering with my secondary school's choir

My secondary school's choir went to the Xin Yuan Community Care in 2015 and 2016 to perform and spend time with the elderly there. This experience has made me feel a stronger connection with the elderly at the community care and also showed me that small actions can go a long way especially for the elderly. I also had the privilege to perform at NUH in 2017 with my school's choir and it was an enjoyable experience for me.
