Information Guide

This is a information guide done by my group and I for my Year 1 project whereby we had to create this information guide in a specific area of Singapore and come up with activities at the different locations. For my part of the information guide I did the National Gallery of Singapore. My group and I went through the route ourselves and made sure that our information guide was accurate and effective. The tour that we chose was an arts trail and this trails target audience were the youths. To make the activities more appealing to the youths, my group used Instagram as the main platform for our activities at the various locations.
Education Package

This is an education package done by my group and I for my Year 1 project whereby we had to create this educational pack for Secondary school students to learn more about the different playwrights. My group chose Bertolt Brecht as our playwright. For my part of the education pack, I was assigned to research on his contributions and come up with an activity to test their understanding at the end of the segment. To make the activity more interesting and engaging for the secondary school children, we wrote the package in the view point of Bertolt Brecht who was trying to find an apprentice to continue his legacy and placed everything in a box with a few of his "belongings".

Dance Outreach Exhibition

This is a dance exhibition done by my group and I for my Year 1 project whereby we had to create info posters on traditional dances that are still existing in Singapore and hold an exhibition in Ngee Ann Polytechnic to inform people on these hidden dances. My group chose to focus on Peranakan Dance. For my part of the info poster, I was assigned to research on the origins of Peranakan Dance. We then came together as a group and chose a memory card matching game as our activity to test their understanding after looking at our posters. To make the activity more appealing we made shrink art keychains in the shape of traditional kuehs as a takeaway upon completing our activity.

This was a learning experience for me as we had to set up the metal structures and the exhibitions by ourselves from scratch without any guidance.

The Imperfect Perfectionist | Photography Exhibition

This was a virtual photography exhibition project conceptualised by me and curated by my team and myself.
As part of my Stage and Exhibition Management Module, we were required to:
- create a deck of sample works that best represent the concept of the exhibition
- photograph our own photos for the exhibition
- write out the synopsis of the exhibition
- do up wall texts for all photographs in our exhibition
- design an exhibition poster
- use the layout of our homes to curate a photography exhibition
- finish off the exhibition with an engagement programme to allow audiences to reflect on their learning throughout the exhibition
My team won the 'Lecturer's Choice' award.
It was a very eye-opening experience as it gave me an insight into the thought process and execution phase of what a curator experiences in museums and galleries. Being able to use our own homes as the exhibition space also allowed me to expand my creativity to further accentuate the exhibition concept as it revolves around the everyday life on an individual that suffers from Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
