Background of Merry Bees Pte. Ltd.:
"Merry Bees Live Music was sparked by the sheer serendipity of three people on one coincidental evening in Aug 2012.
Founded by ShiLi (vocalist of ShiLi & Adi) and John Lye, a multi-talented singer, guitarist and host - Merry Bees have serenaded dignitaries at the Istana, guests in small intimate settings to international stages of more than 15,000 people, and have also performed at TV programmes and other high profile events including APEC, F1 Singapore Grand Prix, Young NTUC Celebrates NDP, DBS, Prudential, Maersk, Singapore Sports Awards, etc."

My job scope during this internship includes: Administration Work, Artist Management, Event Coordination, Livestream Production and Social Media Management. Overall, this internship has been an eye-opening experience for me and I now have a better understanding of the events industry which has better shaped my future career path.
Administrative Work
My tasks include drawing up performance agreements, quotation agreements and invoices. Creating proposals for potential clients for corporate events, drafting of follow-up emails to clients and giving details to talents and crew. Designing of graphic overlays and editing of video montages and social media assets which includes weekly designs for livestream graphics for both YouTube and Zoom as well as editing videos based on the brief clients send us. Creating artist profiles is another area of admin work I am required to cover.

Artist Management
Part of my job scope includes having to contact artists for their availability for upcoming gigs as well as accompanying them to events as their artist manager. This includes understanding the artists needs as simple as parking coupon to their technical rider for them to perform at various gigs. Overall, I am the face of Merry Bees whenever I accompany artists for events and gigs which requires me to always put on my best front.

Event Coordination
Merry Bees has secured a wide spectrum of events that vary from wedding celebrations to corporate and ministerial events and the coordination required for each of such events vary. My task as a wedding live band coordinator is to coordinate the test stream with the band, ensure that the band performances run seamlessly and troubleshooting any technical issues that may arise. I am also required to take Instagram stories and videos of the band sets for publicity usage. I am the main liaison point of contact between the band and the onsite in-charge. As for corporate event coordinating, I am required to head down for site recce to take down notes and photos of the venue to update the necessary crew involved.

Livestream Production
During a livestream production, there will be specific dedicated roles for all crew members. Roles that I have been assigned to thus far are teleprompting, zoom master (spotlighting zoom accounts, sending chat pops and admitting of guests) and videography on either the static or roving camera. On top of being clear of our roles and staying sharp, tight communication is key to a successful event. With the constant changes to the programme flow during the event, it requires us to think quick on our feet and react upon the changes instantly.

Social Media Management
During my internship, I had the opportunity to propose and plan for a tender to manage Jalan Besar Town Council's Facebook Page. Through this tender, I was able to use my creativity to propose content for their daily posting requirements and push for campaigns to be posted on their Facebook page. I was also able to grasp the needs of the client and managed to win the tender with our content proposal. During the management of the Facebook page, we also established a platform for clear communication with the client to prevent miscommunications which aided in productive work flow on both sides.
